An exceptional summer of dance

Two weeks of high-level intensive training on a beautiful Mediterranean island.

Since 2009, MIDS has provided a safe, professional training environment, welcoming dancers every July to Mallorca for an international summer intensive combining technical training, artistic development, and performance experience. The program offers a complete summer dance experience through a wide range of classes, including Classical Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Character, Historical Dance, Pas de Deux, Repertoire, and Choreographic Composition, all designed to help you strengthen and refine your technique with expert international teachers. MIDS also offers valuable stage performance experience and the opportunity to meet and work with dancers from around the world, while enjoying summer on the unique Mediterranean island of Mallorca.

The Training Experience

MIDS is designed to offer a complete summer dance experience, combining high-level technical training with creative rehearsal work and professional stage performance. Over two intensive weeks, dancers train daily in a range of disciplines including Classical Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Character Dance, Historical Dance, Repertoire, Choreographic Composition, and, where possible, Pas de Deux. The program is structured across three levels — Elementary, Intermediate, and Advanced — allowing dancers to train in an environment suited to their age and stage of development.

Alongside technical classes, students work towards a final theatre performance, gaining valuable rehearsal and stage experience in a professional and supportive environment. MIDS brings together local and international dancers, creating a motivating atmosphere where students can develop artistically, build confidence, and experience the energy of working as part of an international dance community.

Performance Experience

A central part of MIDS is the opportunity to work towards a live theatre performance. Throughout the two weeks, students rehearse as part of the creative process, gaining valuable experience of working towards a professional stage production.

The seminar culminates in a final performance in a theatre setting, complete with professional lighting and staging. This gives dancers the chance to experience the discipline, teamwork, and excitement of preparing and performing on stage, while sharing the results of their work with family, friends, and the public.
